Introduction

The awarding body EAL have developed a recognised qualification to offer the delivery by it’s EAL centers to cover The Diploma for Electrical Installations (BS7671: January 2008) The IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition.

This course is suitable for candidates wishing to gain and develop an understanding of the new The 17th Edition in order to apply their knowledge with competence within their workplace Also for candidates who have not gained a qualification in BS 7671 since June 2001 in addition this course is suitable for candidates wishing to demonstrate their technical ability when applying for the competence person schemes through NICEIC.

Objectives

The objectives of this course is to provide candidates with the training that will ensuring that upon successful completion they leave C S Schools Ltd being able to process the knowledge and have the competence to apply the applications of
BS7671: 2008 including the appendices, making candidates more employable.

Entry Requirements

Candidates are not expected to have gained recognised electrical qualifications prior to attendance however candidates should have gained some electrical knowledge and practice. C S Electrical would like to suggest that candidates attend our EAL Level 2 Domestic Electrical Installers course before attending on this course as candidates may struggle to learn the course content in the learning hours allocated without prior knowledge and practice.

  • 4 Days Monday - Thursday
  • 4 Days over Two Consecutive Weekends

We are offering the delivery over two consecutive weekends.

 

Course Cost –

  • 3 Day Weekday £480 Including Examination Fee
  • 4 Day Weekday £550 Including Examination Fee
  • 4 Day Two Consecutive Weekends £895 Including Examination Fee

Course Content

Candidates will be taught and examined at our Ferrybridge Centre C S Electrical.

Candidates will work through and are required to complete all 8 mandatory units

  • Unit 1. Understanding of the scope, object and fundamental principles of the BS7671: 2008
  • Unit 2. Knowledge and understanding of the essential definitions specified in the BS7671: 2008
  • Unit 3. Knowledge and understanding required to assess the general characteristics of the energy source or supply and the installation
  • Unit 4. Knowledge and understanding for protection and safety of electrical installations
  • Unit 5. Knowledge and understanding of selection and erection of equipment for electrical installations
  • Unit 6. Knowledge and understanding of inspection and testing and reporting for electrical installations
  • Unit 7. Knowledge and understanding of special installations or locations and their requirements for electrical installations
  • Unit 8. Understanding of the relevant appendices of the BS7671: 2008

 

Assessment

 

All candidates are assessed to make sure that they are able to understand the BS7671: 2008 requirements and apply them in their workplace.  Assessments are based within our centre and are marked by EAL the awarding body.

  • The examination is performed online weekly using windows XP
  • Windows XP training can be given Prior to examination
  • The examination duration is 120 minutes
  • Which consists of 60 multiple choice questions
  • The examination is open book candidates are allowed to take in the BS7671: 2008 Publication ONLY.
  • Pass grade is 70%
  • Candidate are not graded they either Pass or Fail
