Introduction

The awarding body EAL have developed a recognised qualification that meets the changes from the BS7671: 2001 to the BS7671: 2008 covering the updates not the full content.

This course is suitable for candidates wishing to update their knowledge from the 16th Edition to the 17th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations.

Objectives

The objectives of this course is to provide candidates with the training of the new layout, structure and the many changes of the currents 17th Edition BS7671: 2008 ensuring that all candidates upon successful completion leave C S Schools being able to find, explain and competently apply the regulations of BS7671: 2008 including the appendices within their own workplace. making candidates more employable.

Entry Requirements

Candidates are required to provide C S Electrical with proof of attainment of one of the following qualifications since June 2004,

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology (2330)
  • City & Guilds Electrical Installation 2360 parts 1 & 2
  • OR
  • Candidates have achieved the following qualification since 2001
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS7671: 2001) The 16th Edition.

Course Content

Candidates are taught and examined with our centre at Ferrybridge C S Electrical School

This UPDATED qualification of BS7671: 2001(The 16th Edition) TO the current BS7671: 2008 (the 17th Edition) consists of 1 unit which deals with the changes ONLY.

  • Unit 1 – IEE 17th Edition Wiring Regulations Update

Assessment

All candidates are assessed to make sure that they are able to comply and understand the BS7671: 2008 requirements, assessments are based within our centre however they are marked by EAL the awarding body.

  • This unit consists of numerous leaning outcomes and candidates are required to achieve all learning outcomes at the end of course examination
  • The examination is performed online the same day as training using windows XP
  • Windows XP training can be given Prior to examination if required
  • The examination duration is 60 minutes
  • Which consists of 30 multiple-choice questions covering all the content of Unit 1.
  • The examination is open book meaning candidates are allowed to take in the BS7671: 2008 Publication ONLY.
  • Pass grade is 70%
  • Candidate are not graded they either Pass or Fail (re-sits can be taken after seven days and the 1st re-sit is free)
